National Highways’ chief customer and strategy officer, Elliot Shaw, will present the opening keynote address at this year’s Traffex, which takes place at the CBS Arena in Coventry in May.
Mr Shaw joined the government-owned company in 2016 and was appointed to its board in January 2024.
He is responsible for the strategic development of the National Highways network, as well as its organisational transformation agenda, analytical and economist functions, relationships with key statutory and regulatory bodies, and its customer service, communications and corporate affairs activities.
Mr Shaw will kick off the show at 10am on Wednesday 22 May in the all-new Management and Mobility Theatre.
His keynote – Strategic Roads, RIS 2 and Beyond - will focus on priorities for the road network, including the pivotal Road Investment Strategy 2 (RIS 2), which runs until March next year.
Traffex takes place on 22-23 May alongside Parkex, Cold Comfort and Evex.
Visitor registration is now open and one pass gives visitors free access to all four events.
Two new theatres – Management and Mobility, and Safety and Sustainability will provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited content across a series of keynote presentations, panel discussions and interactive workshops focusing on topics including the Plan for Drivers funding, AI, civil moving traffic enforcement and digital twins.
The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) will be providing CPD certification and visitors can collect CPD points on the IHE stand or after the event.
