United Asphalt – a producer of asphalt and macadam – has been identified as one of London Stock Exchange’s 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain.
The report is a celebration of the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses.
To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years, significantly outperforming their industry peers.
United Asphalt was formed in 2007 following the acquisition of two asphalt plants located in Berkshire and Surrey. With a focus on developing sustainable products and building a reputation for customer service, the business has grown substantially in a market dominated by global players.
United Construction Materials co-founder and chairman, Ross Snape, said: “From the outset we had to be different from the rest, by focusing on simplicity, consistency and agility, we have been able to stay ahead of the game. However, as every entrepreneurial business knows, you cannot become complacent and each day we work harder to meet our goals. Being included in the 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain, is an accolade the whole team can be proud of.”
Xavier Rolet, chief executive of the London Stock Exchange Group, said: “This report is a significant part of London Stock Exchange’s broader campaign to support UK high growth companies in their journeys from Start-up to Stardom and to create an entrepreneurship revolution. I’m delighted that a strong alliance between UK government, financial market participants, investors, entrepreneurs and companies has been created to support these inspiring businesses.”
