Steve Rowsell appointed new president of CIHT

Steve Roswell is the new president of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) for 2016/17.

Roswell was welcomed into the role at an inauguration held at CIHT’s Britannia Walk office in London.

The theme for Roswell’s year is ‘Strategic Collaboration in Transport’. This theme aligns with CIHT’s new five-year strategic plan, Delivering Transport for a Better Society.

The new president said:“Most of us will be familiar with the collaborative approaches to projects and services which have become more widespread over the last decade. My focus on strategic collaboration is aimed at applying collaborative principles to the delivery of our corporate objectives.

“Our charitable objective is to provide public benefit and promote education, training and research through the advancement of the science and art of highways and transportation. We cannot do this on our own, there are numerous organisations involved in addressing current and future transport challenges. I will be working with CIHT colleagues to support the Institution in developing stronger collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders where we have common objectives.”
