Nigel Drew is the new owner of civil engineering contractor R & C Williams.
The company has been based in Birmingham since 1957 after being established by brothers Ron and Charlie Williams. It has a strong foundation in building bridges, drainage, structural repairs, steelworks and fabrications.
Drew joined the firm in 1983 as contract manager and was promoted to contracts director nine years later. He has been managing director since 2002.
The new owner said: “We want to consolidate our strong position with existing clients/contracts and maintain our reputation as one of the leading Midland SMEs and Tier 2 providers.”
Going forward, Drew wants his firm to develop new relationships with the likes of HS2, Highways England, local authorities and other future Midlands projects.
The company employs around 80 staff and has an annual turnover of £12 million.
The takeover deal was completed last year with the official handover of the business and building taking place last week.
