Kier Group has appointed Martin Duffy as collaboration and improvement director for its highways division – a new role that the company says underlines its commitment to close cooperation with its clients and suppliers.
Keri says Duffy will report directly to its executive director, Kier Highways, Dave Wright, and will ensure its collaboration agenda continues to be embedded across the business, building on the company’s BSI 11000 accreditation and pioneering of the UK’s first alliance arrangement for SMEs.
Duffy has extensive highways experience in the UK and overseas, having worked on the client and consultant sides of the business. He began his career at Avon County Council and also worked at Norfolk County Council before moving to Happold Consulting in 1997, where he became partner in 2008. Prior to joining Kier, Duffy ran consultancy ToweyDuffy & Co, advising public and private sector clients in using teamwork and processes to achieve results.
Commenting on the appointment, Dave Wright said: “I’m pleased to welcome Martin to the team. His expertise in collaboration makes him a great addition to our senior leadership team, and his experience will stand us in good stead as we look to forge even closer relationships with our clients and our supply chain.”
Duffy added: “This is an exciting time for me to be joining Kier. With collaboration high on the agenda across the industry, I’m looking forward to working with the team and continuing to embed it in our company culture, creating positive change and adding real value for our clients.”
