Interserve Construction has been awarded a £4.7 million contract to carry out improvements to the M11 and A120 in Essex.
The work will involve resurfacing, safety barrier renewal, drainage work, embankment repairs, replacing and installing new signs.
The contract is part of Highways England’s commitment in the region to improve safety and ensure better journey experiences across the East region’s busiest roads.
Aran Nugent, service delivery team leader at Highways England, said: “The appointment of the contractors is a vital part of the delivery of improvements to some of our major roads in Essex. This scheme will make journeys better for local people by improving safety for the thousands of drivers that use these roads each day.”
Work will start at the end of January and be completed by the spring.
