£360m highways deal up for grabs

Westminster City Council is searching for a contractor to carry out road maintenance work across central London – in a deal that could be worth up to £360 million over the next 12 years.

Highways contractors are being invited to bid for the work, which will initially last for eight years with the option of a four-year extension.

The council look after 206 miles of carriageway, together with traffic signs and bollards.

It is anticipated that services delivered under the contract will commence in April 2014.
