Wolverhampton facing highways cuts

Wolverhampton City Council is planning highways maintenance cuts as part of a £64.4m drop in its budget.

The council said it was a “dark day” as plans were unveiled to slash services.

It said: “The council is being forced to review its highways maintenance programmes as well as grounds maintenance which could see changes to how frequently roads are repaired, grass verges are trimmed and how parks are maintained.”
