Thames Crossing decision “weeks away”

A decision on the Lower Thames Crossing could be just weeks away.

KentNews.co.uk reports that senior figures in Dartford and Gravesham are predicting a decision could come from government by 19 March.

The supposed deadline is due to a purdah period ahead of county council elections on 4 May which stops council officers discussing topics that could influence an election.

The report adds that businesses have written an open letter calling on the chancellor , Phillip Hammond, to guarantee the earliest possible delivery of a new Lower Thames Crossing.
