Job Summary:


To manage the fleet requirements regarding Maintenance, Servicing, Repairs, Modifications, Warranty and MOT’s ensuring a 24/7 maintenance operation is available, leading and managing the maintenance team to deliver a best in class service and deve.lop a positive relationship with the customer, responding to service requirements.



Main Activities:




  • Ensure all servicing, maintenance and repairs are carried out to DVSA standards and Colas Company standards.
  • To ensure all KPI’s within scope of this job role are achieved for the Area 4
  • Liaise with suppliers and product manufacturers to ensure best value for money is obtained.
  • Ensure compliance of all Health & Safety regulations with regards to vehicle workshops in line with current legislation and company standards.
  • Manage the tyre contract, liaising directly with the tyre supplier and the tyre fitting company.
  • Ensure all legal compliance of all vehicle documentation in accordance to the Operator’s licence.
  • Monitor fleet usage to ensure the fleet is fit for purpose – highlighting any anomalies or trends to the attention of the Regional Plant & Transport Manager.
  • Ensure all Company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure all relevant fleet related administration is accurately maintained).
  • Effectively organise and maintain all internal documents including scanning, filing and archiving on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Demonstrate effective task prioritisation and time management to successfully fulfil the role.
  • Undertake any other appropriate duties as required by Line Manager.



Skills & Qualifications required:



To have achieved a Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport.


  • Good IT skills including using Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook to a proficient standard.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task whilst using own initiative to meet deadlines.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role including proficient use of Excel reporting is essential.
  • Experience within a Plant & Transport environment and knowledge of fleet software systems would be beneficial.
