Highways England’s Chief Executive Jim O’Sullivan says he’s confident that the M25-A3 Wisley Interchange improvement scheme will go ahead and within budget, even though the organisation is revising plans for some of its capital projects.
The website GetSurrey.co.uk has spoken to Mr O’Sullivan who told it, “We are confident we will deliver this large programme without overspending our budget.”
The improvements could consist of a four-level flyover or an elongated roundabout, with the site saying the flyover could cost in excess of £200m.
“We are committed to delivering safe reliable roads that deliver value for money for the taxpayer,” added Mr O’Sullivan. “We have added around 100 lane miles of much-needed motorway capacity since April 2015, currently have 17 schemes in construction and are providing funding towards eight schemes which will help deliver thousands of new jobs and homes.”
