Colas snaps up ‘complementary’ Allied Infrastructure

Colas has acquired Allied Infrastructure with the aim of extending the range of products and service solutions it provides.

The construction and maintenance firm said it completed the acquisition of multi-disciplined specialist services contractor Allied Infrastructure Management Limited on 31 May.

It said the two businesses are highly complementary and that it has ‘a deep understanding of the existing Allied customer base’. The Allied senior management team and staff will remain in place and the firm will continue to operate as a separate entity, providing services to its current customers as well as the wider Colas group.

Colas said it will provide continued investment to support the firm ‘to remain at the forefront in Airport maintenance and client services’.

According to Colas, Allied Infrastructure has an annual turnover of £13m working across airports, highways, defence and construction sectors, with more than 20 years’ experience of working in high pressure environments and short duration closures on airfields. Colas said the firm has developed innovative materials to offer complete solutions to protect, maintain and restore infrastructure assets, especially in the airside environment.

Colas described itself as an ambitious, award-winning business, delivering sustainable solutions for the design, construction and maintenance of the UK’s transport infrastructure.
