Exhibitors, speakers and visitors from across the highways, traffic management and transport industries have been talking Traffex during the event, and you can hear what they had to say in our three podcasts from the NEC.
Talking Traffex was produced each day by Smart Highways editor and experienced broadcast journalist Paul Hutton. Although the podcasts were made for each day’s event, there is a lot of content you can listen to that is highly interesting and informative.
In Tuesday’s Talking Traffex, Paul spoke to both Siemens and Swarco, as well as event organisers. On Wednesday, we heard highlights of Highways England CEO Jim O’Sullivan’s opening speech, as well as from former Transport Minister Steven Norris about road user charging, Kier about their need to collaborate across the industry. We also heard from industry expert Mark Pleydell on civils versus technology and Clancy about their new safety initiative.
On Thursday’s Talking Traffex you can hear Shaun Pidcock of Highways England talking about Smart Motorways, Jennie Martin from ITS (UK) about diversity in the workplace. Paul discusses traffic light and video technology with two exhibitors, Pike Signals and Videalert and he learns how to set up a new AGD pedestrian radar. You’ll also hear from Hemming Group chairman Nick Service about why the next Traffex is sooner that you think.
